Job Description

The Director of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for establishment, staffing and management of an O&M service line-of-business within Redaptive. You will work closely with the rest of the Procurement team to establish the service capabilities to support an ever-expanding commercial solutions portfolio of sustainability and energy efficiency measures, inclusive of LED Lighting, whole building HVAC systems (e.g., packaged rooftop units, boilers, chillers, split systems, heat pumps, VFDs, etc.), commercial solar systems, natural gas generators, electric vehicle charging stations and other emerging technologies in the efficiency and renewables industry.
We are looking for someone who is highly organized and a creative problem solver. Communication with internal and external stakeholders is critical, in addition to managing activities across multiple departments to support the ongoing maintenance of our efficiency projects. This position reports to the Senior Director of Procurement.
This position may be done anywhere in the remote USA except Colorado at this time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy for Redaptive to ‘self-perform’ maintenance obligations for all existing and emerging sustainability and energy efficiency measures.
  • Negotiate Service Level Agreements, pricing, and overall maintenance agreements with third-party maintenance providers.
  • Ability to manage Service Team members to provide preventive maintenance services and/or reactive repair work for systems at customer facilities.
  • Develop industry leading response and resolution procedures for planned and unplanned equipment outages.
  • Ensures Service Team partners adhere to all safety requirements, embodying a Safety-First culture at all times while on client premises.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Products Team to build-in the capabilities for robust preventive and predictive maintenance protocols for new product offerings.
  • Monitor and report on Service Team’s results to ensure on-time delivery and quality of work to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Manage special programs (one-off transformational efforts) as directed by Leadership.
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This includes maintenance planning, resource allocation, staffing, and leadership techniques.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing a diverse, remote Service Team (including management of international employees) and tracking performance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Independent and able to work under pressure & tight deadline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Take initiative with ideas and actively help lead the company regarding strategic and tactical management issues.
  • May be responsible to analyze, create, manage, and achieve an annual O&M financial and operational targets, in alignment with corporate objectives and direction.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Service Operations Management with 10+ years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering preferred (or related field) preferred. Substantial relevant experience also considered.
  • Technically proficient within the sustainability and energy efficiency sector at a sufficient level to meet the requirement to stand-up a new O&M Service team for these technologies.
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC, sustainability techniques and energy management in Commercial & Industrial facilities
  • Experience in Solar or other generation technologies a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills along with strong quantitative analysis and Excel skills.
  • Experience developing teams and driving accountability.
  • Amenable to working from home for the foreseeable future.
