About the role:

Aurora Solar is a fast-growing Series C company on a mission to create a future of solar energy for all. Aurora makes the software that is enabling society to transition to a world powered by solar power. It’s our goal to have every solar installation in the world pass through our software, which has already been used to design millions of solar projects. What you'll do:

  • Build new API endpoints and/or partnering with other teams that want to launch new endpoints
  • Maintain our API documentation under docs.aurorasolar.com
  • Increase API uptime & robustness, tune endpoints, work with others to scale the API infrastructure, fix bugs, and much more
  • Work closely with our product owner to comprehend the needs of our customers, participate in customer calls to launch new endpoints, and help resolve issues

What we value:

  • Team players who embrace partnership and perform effective code reviews
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in an asynchronous environment
  • A good sense of code organization and the ability to write clean API interfaces (huge plus: if you have actual experience building publicly available APIs you can point us to)
  • 5+ years of full time exposure to software development either as part of a CS degree or practical work experience
  • Familiarity with or eagerness to learn Ruby on Rails. Python/Django experience is also welcome too!
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
