About the positionWe are looking for an experienced software engineer to work on our vessel and voyage optimisation products. You will design and implement new features and improvements to existing features based on user, product and business requirements, in collaboration with the team of AI and other departments. You will maintain and improve the quality of our codebase. You will brainstorm ideas and come up with the best technologies to solve problems that appear within our dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will write, test and deploy production code, review the code of other developers, and ensure changes are tracked and documented.Our products are used by shipping company engineers and captains to optimise the technical operations and navigation of their vessels based on our in-house developed AI and optimisation algorithms. You will need to gain a good understanding of the domain and our research output to design improvements that cover our customers’ needs and make our back-end infrastructure scalable.Our stack includes Python, TensorFlow, Rust, Java using Spring Boot and React. Our cloud platform is hosted on AWS, and we are in the process of transitioning our infrastructure to container orchestration using EKS.
