Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

As a People Operations Manager (HR Business Partner) within the People Team, you’ll be aligned to a business function. You’ll work across all management levels, ensuring that all operational People services and products are aligned to business initiatives to enable OVO to deliver the best experience for its customers.  

In this role, you’ll work closely with your People Operations Lead and People Business Partners in the creation, iteration and delivery of the people plan for your business areas.

 

What will I be doing?

You will act as a People Services specialist and provide advice and guidance working with an operational focus. Your role will be diverse as you provide support on sophisticated operational people problems, deliver change initiatives such as organisational design, modernisation of working practices and take a lead role in creating the OVO experience at your local site.  Also you will work closely with business leaders influencing and steering strategic implementation. 

You will manage and ensure delivery of regular people activities such as culture initiatives, performance management, well being and engagement.  This can only be done successfully by working in partnership with our HR specialist functions, this include Reward, Talent, Engagement, Transformation and the wider People Hub.

You will be:

  • Working closely with People Business Partners to understand and execute the People Plan as trusted advisor to the Business 
  • Supporting the business with building a great place to work with improving engagement levels, driving cultural initiatives to improve business performance
  • Leading with curiosity to appropriately question, influence and advise to ensure the business assess & understand the impacts of decisions on people
  • Creatively enhancing employee brand both internally and externally so the business is seen as an employer of choice and a great place to work
  • Overseeing performance and wellbeing processes and initiatives at a site level  providing feedback to key partners to map and deliver development requirements for the business area
  • Proactively identifying organisational change opportunities for the business, identifying where value exists across end to end processes and the associated root cause requiring elimination.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of internal and external requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, actively reducing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Using Agile ways of working, engage with and complete the inception and concepting process which appropriately scopes each piece of work prior to commencement.
  • Working with the People Transformation Team and the People  Business Partners to prioritise projects and agree delivery and governance approach.

 

Is this the job for me? 

You'll have proven expertise as a HR Business Partner, preferably partnering with operational teams. You're a natural people person and an effective communicator - you thrive on problem solving and building collaborative relationships. 

You’re confident engaging with, and influencing, people of all levels across the organisation to support with embedding change initiatives.

Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated and detailed understanding of core People processes and People management practices
  • A strong background in a BAU day to day People Operations role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build working relationships with your teammates and senior managers
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and impacts
  • Strong organisational skills - multitasking doesn’t phase you
  • You like to challenge the status quo to strive for progressive thinking at all times 
  • Critical thinking, combined with key analytical and problem-solving skills 

Qualifications:

  • Ideally a CIPD qualification/Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or practical experience which provides the equivalent level of HR understanding)
