Job Description

Location: We are open to this being based in Bristol, London or Home based within the UK.

The OVO Group’s purpose is to drive progress towards net zero carbon living. To reach Plan Zero, we need everyone to come together - not just as customers buying energy, but as members with a common goal. As part of this ambitious plan, our goal is to become the ‘Leading Employer in the UK’ by 2030. If you think you could be the talent we’re looking for, then come and join the adventure!

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

The asset management team, part of Commercial, manages the end to end journey of smart metering assets for OVO and you will start the asset journey by forecasting and ordering assets to keep them at optimum levels.

What will I be doing?

Working with a number of teams around the business and also with external suppliers, you will not only lead the regular forecasting process but will proactively handle issues within the supply chain and communicate effectively when there are issues that you are not able to control

You will manage a small team and will be responsible for the build and maintenance of sophisticated forecasting models to allow for scenario building and will make recommendations based on your analysis.

While being great at data and relationship management, you will also have a solid commercial understanding and be a strong communicator

You will be responsible for:
  • Building and maintaining complex forecasting models
  • Communicating proposals and running the monthly approval process within the business
  • Distribution of forecasts and orders to manufacturers in a timely, high-quality manner
  • Seeking solutions and handling senior stakeholders when there are issues within the supply chain
  • Feeding back requirements and risks around changes to install forecast supply issues and ensuring these are proactively mitigated and communicated
  • Working with and supporting the team handling manufacturer contracts to ensure communication is consistent and providing information regarding minimum volume commitments, forecasted volumes, and new asset variants
  • Ensure the successful onboarding of new assets
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for analysis and scenario modelling to support decision making
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively communicate and handle risks
  • Collaborating closely with the relevant departments to resolve data issues relating to deliveries
  • Feedback to manufacturers on issues around late deliveries and incorrect data files
  • Support the wider Asset Management team in stock movement, pilot, and triage activities

That sounds super exciting, but… Do I have what it takes?

Is this the job for me?

  • Experience in supply chain operational or forecasting roles
  • Experience in analytics and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with multiple third-party suppliers and adhering to commercial best practices
  • Communicating and influencing a wide range of partners including senior management
  • Ability to “keep it simple” and provide clear and concise information
  • An understanding of smart metering industry would be advantageous
  • Experience using Google Sheets, BigQuery, Presentations and Tableau is desirable

From us you’ll get*

  • An annual discretionary bonus
  • 4% of your salary to spend on flexible lifestyle benefits
  • 5% matched employer contribution to your pension
  • 25 days holiday + 1 for your birthday
  • And many more...

(*) Please note that certain benefits kick-in once you have passed probation which can be up to 6 months after your start date.
