Certified Public Accountant

Position description

We are looking for a Certified Public Accountant who would enjoy helping us either complete an audit or a pre-audit of our books and accounting process. You will be working with the Executive Director of Greenstand and the bookkeeping team.

Greenstand is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) fully remote social non-profit organization turning environmental stewardship into a reliable source of income. Our work tackles both extreme poverty and climate change. Our main product is the Treetracker, a mobile app that allows planting organizations and their donors to track the growth of newly planted trees through periodic geotagged photos. 

 As a member of the World Economic Forum's Trillion Tree Cohort and a Supporting Partner of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, this project is at an exciting scaling juncture and owes these successes to the hundreds of global volunteers who have made it all possible.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Prepare for an audit by identifying the necessary information and type of records needed
• Prepare a complete audit document, and communicate the results to the Finance team and Executive Director
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles 
• Must be very organized and able to work remotely while integrating into our team
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Desire and motivation to work autonomously as part of a global remote team
