Mechanic

Remora is an early-stage climate tech startup backed by Chris Sacca and Y Combinator. We’re building a device that captures the carbon emissions from a semi-truck. Our founders include a former EPA scientist who pioneered mobile carbon capture during her PhD and a former diesel mechanic turned engineer who built electric semi-trucks for some of the world’s largest automotive companies.

We’re looking for a mechanic to join our team in Livonia, MI. If you want to join an engineering team and work with engineers to create new designs — and especially if you’ve custom-built your own projects — we’d love to talk with you.

Requirements:
* Understanding of HVAC systems
* Good communication skills
* CDL A or B

Things you might be doing (or learning) on a daily basis:
* Steel and aluminum welding
* Reading wiring diagrams and building wiring harnesses
* Engine dynamometer testing
* Electronic diesel engine diagnostics and repair
* Diesel after treatment system diagnostics and repair
* Hydraulic system schematic reading, diagnostics and repair

* Hours: Full-time or part-time, we can be flexible
* Start date: ASAP
* Compensation: Everyone at Remora owns significant equity in the company, and everyone earns the exact same salary: $80,000.
* Benefits: We offer a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (i.e. monthly allowance) to cover a healthcare plan from the ACA marketplace.
