Director of Corporate Accounting

As the newest member of the Finance team, you will help contribute to managing general accounting activities. The candidate must have knowledge of and demonstrated the ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles and to be able to lead a team. The candidate will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles. This position will be working out of our Berkeley office and will report to the Corporate Controller.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

• Manage month-end close accounting operations including – preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidation process.
• Oversee and manage accounts payable and T&E processing.
• Review and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual flux analyses.
• Preparing and reviewing financial reporting packages, various management reports and other analyses.
• Evaluate, improve, and implement accounting policies and controls.
• Maintain accounting process documentation.
• Driver of process improvements through automation, streamlining and best practices to ensure an efficient close process.
• Support new business initiatives through identification of accounting requirements, ensure implementation of financial controls and process and system solutions.
• Manage annual audit, including preparation of the financial statements and support schedules.
• Be a team leader and be willing to take on ad-hoc requests.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• BA/BS degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience and 5 years of managing, CPA required.
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Office products.
• Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all areas and levels of the company.
• Proactive, assertive, and creative approach to problem solving.
