Technical Accounting Manager

As the newest member of the Finance team, you will be a team-oriented Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting who will report to the Corporate Controller and will have the opportunity to solve for technical accounting issues and assist in operational projects This will include creating technical accounting documentation, driving adoptions of new standards, preparing financial statements, and designing “right-size” policies and processes.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters to ensure proper accounting and disclosure.
• Perform accounting research, documentation through memos, and adoption of all newly issued standards by the FASB.
• Understand and provide interpretation of relevant accounting pronouncements, complete related technical accounting memos and financial impact assessment. Assist management in assessing financial and operational implications, especially in ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 850, and ASC 805.
• Prepare financial statements and manage the financial reporting process.
• Perform stock-based compensation accounting and equity-related reconciliations.
• Manage and assist with external financial statements audit.
• Support the company with the drafting and reviewing of any new and existing policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Recommend and assist in the implementation of process improvements, as appropriate, to standardize and streamline processes.
• Ensure the internal controls related to accounting policies are designed, implemented, and operating effectively for compliance.
• Be a team player and be willing to take on ad-hoc requests.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor or higher degree in accounting.
• CPA is required.
• 5 years in accounting related experience with Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail, organized, sense of ownership and positive “can do” attitude.
• Problem-solver and analytical thinker.
• Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly, work independently and cross-functionally, and project manage and prioritize work to achieve objectives and timelines.
• Effective written and communication skills.
• Reliable and responsive to stakeholders and requests.
• Familiarity with the following software is a plus: NetSuite, E*TRADE Equity Edge Online, and Workiva.
