Field Network Engineer

Apeel is looking for a Field Network Engineer to join our growing global Operations team. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for configuration, deployment, and life-cycle maintenance of the network environments at all Apeel offices and partner locations.

This role reports to the Director, Operations Engineering and can be based in McAllen, TX with expectation of 40% travel domestically and internationally. We are looking for you to join us immediately. 

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee network and internet requires at all Apeel locations and field installation sites 
• Operates company's internal data communications systems 
• Plans, designs, and implements local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP) 
• Provide technical support services including advice, troubleshooting problems, and resolving issues for users
• coordinates with vendors for installation of such items as routers and switches 
• Provide training and assists with proposal writing
• Conducts project planning, cost analysis, vendor comparisons, and project implementation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
• Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
• 5+ years networking experience/network administration, ideally a production or manufacturing environment with a global footprint
• Business level fluency in English and Spanish
• Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting network communications
• Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, Zoom, chat (Slack and Spoke) and email (G Suite)
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in cold and/or hot environments
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
