provide the data and analysis needed to make the best decisions for the business. Machine learning research from your team introduces new algorithms to continuously improve all of our processes from deployments to pricing, routing, and more. You'll be responsible for pushing the
business forward on all fronts, supported by the insights derived from you as a data thought leader and key leadership partner.

The Team
At Spin, Data is a specialized and cross functional team of Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers. Data is responsible for building data products by collaborating with Product, Engineering, Operation, Growth, Marketing, Finance and Business teams to drive decision-making informed by data. Our team consists of people that are passionate about creating finely polished and intuitive experiences and, at the same time, obsess over performance and reliability of what we build. We challenge the status quo and strive towards finding the best way to solve problems.
We work in very small groups to keep processes and overhead low, so we have a lot of trust and accountability to perform the work required to build the best product.

Responsibilities:
● Maintain a single source of truth for Spin’s KPIs and operational data and provide front-line experiments and experiment roadmaps to drive new initiatives and optimizations
● Communicate and drive cross-functionally initiatives with leaders across many disciplines
● Analyze complex business problems, operational scenarios, and related financial implications that enable leadership to make informed business decisions and drive operational excellence
● Consult with internal customers and cross-functional business leaders to identify gaps/opportunities for process improvements, revenue growth and cost savings
● Provide timely and accurate reports, dashboards, KPIs, operational scorecards, and other leading indicators that report historical performance, as well as provide insight into future trends
● Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
● Define and drive the development of an aggressive technical roadmap to meet the needs of the team, and partner teams
● Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing as needed
● Manage data analysts, engineers, and managers working to build, scale, and deploy all data solutions
● Own the process to build and maintain a well-oiled data team
● Partner closely at a leadership level with leaders from Product, Engineering, Operation, Growth, Marketing, Finance and Business teams applying analysis and judgement towards strategic business decisions
● Participate heavily in Spin’s leadership team setting business strategies, representing data, driving high impact decisions and debating key strategic topics
● Be an effective people manager
● Help team members and managers develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
● Assess employee performance frequently, address under-performance, and recognize and promote excellent performance
● Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees
● Instill a diverse and inclusive team culture that is innovative and collaborative Qualifications:
● 10+ years of relevant work experience in data, including 5+ years experience managing data organizations
● Exceptional communication skills and articulate with both technical and business partners
● MS or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Engineering, Economics or a related quantitative field
● Deep technical background in applied data science, statistics, analysis, machine learning and engineering(plus)
● Experience in recruiting and managing large and distributed technical teams, including performance management, diversity & inclusion topics and managing directors/managers/engineers/analysts
