Overview

SCS Global Services is seeking qualified contract Lead Verifiers for organization-level GHG verification services. The contractor for this role would be available for engagements between the Q1-Q3 2023 verification cycle. This is a contract position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead verifier for organization level GHG verification audits performing required steps including:
    • Conducting kickoff meetings
    • Development of risk assessment and verification plan
    • Performing required data checks for inventory data and data management systems
    • Documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings
    • Development of verification report and verification statement
  • Complete audits as contracted by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with SCS and client contacts
  • Maintain up-to-date competency records including training logs and calibration activities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SCS program requirements and external scheme requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering-related discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Lead Verifier for GHG verification projects
  • Professional experience with one or more of the following industries:
    • Airports / Airlines
    • Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses
    • Oil & Gas Extraction & Processing
    • Power Generation & Transmission
    • Electric Power Transactions
    • University Campuses
  • CARB Mandatory GHG Reporting Regulation Accredited Lead Greenhouse Gas Verifier (sector specialization in Transactions, Oil & Gas, Process Emissions a plus)
  • Excellent technical writing and/or editing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to complete complex and time-sensitive projects

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Multi-language proficiency (e.g. English, Spanish) preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit 6+ hours per day. Keyboarding 6+ hours per day. Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone. Must be able to physically travel to audit sites via plane and/or car. Travel requirements are determined on a project-by-project basis.
