The Opportunity
The mission of our Community Organizer and Program Manager is to support our communities in using our platform and develop engagement programs to drive climate solutions engagement. This role works closely with our communities to discover their goals, needs, and challenges, and then develop the best plan for engagement in their communities. You are part coach and part project manager, focused on helping our communities achieve their climate solution engagement goals with the BAC program and to engage and inspire community members and help them learn about the many options and resources available to help them take action. This role reports to the President of BAC.
What you will be doing:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Manage the engagement program as a whole, including onboarding new communities and managing the community organizing team.</li>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Work with partnering communities to learn and understand the motivation, goals and desired outcomes for each community.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Help communities to develop successful plans including goals, metrics, user engagement, and timelines.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Support communities by providing coaching and training on platform features and functionality, best practices, and engagement techniques.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Develop materials and presentations to support outreach and engagement across all BAC programs.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Train, manage and mentor the community organizing team.</li>
</ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Lead and manage direct engagement programs in participating communities.</li>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Help create effective local communication campaigns including email, social media, and press to drive engagement efforts.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Develop and foster connections with leaders in the communities, providing training and support for community-led efforts.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="2">Work in coalition with other organizations doing similar work in the area to promote mutual goals.</li>

Requirements:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">3+ years of work experience as a Community Organizer</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">3+ years of program management experience</li>
<li>Passionate about empowering people and communities on climate change solutions</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Self-motivated, proactive team player with strong leadership and priority management skills</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Strong communication skills and passion for building trust and communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders from senior staff to diverse community members and groups</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Ability to work from home/remote required</li>
