Job Description

The Position

We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks.

International students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week.

You are interested in joining our Hardware Engineering team and ready to dig into embedded software projects that are critical to our team’s success. 

Some projects you’ll be a part of:

  • Building new integrations for Spotter and Smart Mooring
  • Subsystem development in next generation platforms
  • Advanced research and experiments with new and emerging technologies
  • Integrated system testing, open ocean deployments, and the occasional throwing of things out of airplanes to see what breaks

Responsibilities

  • Test, benchmark and optimize various system functions
  • Debug/troubleshoot bugs in current products
  • Add new features to our existing and future products

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Experience with C and/or C++
  • Available to work for 3-6 months

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers (or other microcontrollers like AVR, PIC, etc...)
  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting language
  • Experience with embedded RTOS (Such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.)
  • Pursuing degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with various communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART
  • A passion for or connection to the Oceans.
