Job Description

Redaptive is searching for an enthusiastic and talented person to support our Deal Development function, driving financial and contractual structuring of large complex construction projects on our Campus Team. Reporting to the Director of Campus Programs, the Deal Development Analyst/Associate will be responsible for supporting Redaptive’s Sales Executives in underwriting, structuring and contracting for complex multi-ECM energy and efficiency construction projects in the US and Globally.
This is a highly visible and cross-functional role that requires working with Redaptive’s sales, account management, construction, legal and finance teams to drive transactions from the initial lead phase through contracting, underwriting, funding and closing. The role will have an opportunity to contribute in a direct and meaningful way to Redaptive’s top and bottom-line by successfully driving deals to closing while managing profitability, bankability and executability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support customer transactions through conducting detailed financial analysis for both internal review and client meetings and negotiations by creating and maintaining detailed financial models in Excel for various deal structures and customers
  • Support growth strategy and platform building efforts of the team and company by assisting on ad-hoc tasks as assigned by leadership team which may include financial forecasts, presentation materials, maintaining agenda and minutes for key meetings
  • Work with Redaptive’s Finance team to price transactions, secure funding, develop investment committee proposals and ensure bankability of contracts
  • Partner with Redaptive’s Construction Solutions team to develop pricing and constructability of projects to meet customer needs
  • Explore creative deal structures to assist in differentiating Redaptive’s offering including combined efficiency, generation and storage solutions
  • Individual is expected to be highly motivated, and a high performing individual in the organization who can take on responsibility and meet deadlines with minimal oversight

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of experience in project finance, energy markets, utility industry, consulting or banking
  • Academic background in finance, engineering, accounting or math preferred or equivalent experience
  • Specific experience contracting, pricing, structuring, and analyzing complex development projects, e.g. commercial or industrial real estate development, public private partnerships, generation or utility projects, etc.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and experience with ability to build complex, dynamic, and accurate project models in Microsoft Excel from scratch with knowledge of advance formulas and metrics (XIRR, XNPV, Lookups, Sumifs, etc.)
  • Project cash flows and calculating various return metrics
  • Coordinate people and activities across multiple functional areas with demonstrated strong capabilities in communicating and interfacing between Sales, Construction, Engineering, Finance and Legal
  • Ability and interest in reading, understanding and negotiating complex development and performance contracting agreements
  • Working knowledge of evolving regulatory policies that are driving new growth market prospects, including Commercial PACE, regional climate action laws, FTM and BTM BESS, community solar, etc. preferred
  • Resourceful and comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment with excellent time management and organizational skills, particularly managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and Microsoft Office Suite of products especially PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Have an ergonomically correct and functional work-from-home workstation set up; amenable to working from home for the foreseeable future
