ABOUT THE ROLE

As Pledge’s new member of the Data and Analytics team you'll play an important role in building the early stages of an innovative and data driven product. We are looking for proactive and passionate people who are eager to analyse large and unstructured datasets. You'll work in close collaboration with the founders, data scientists, engineers and other internal and external stakeholders.

Pledge works with B2B customers across a range of sectors including logistics, travel and e-commerce amongst others.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Analyse customer data using a range of tools such as Python, SQL and Spark.
  • Support data scientists and engineers with the automation of emission calculations and reporting.
  • Conduct deep dives and data mining to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets for the data and product teams.
  • Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to understand data needs and identify potential new data sources.
  • Explore climate data and methodologies to calculate and classify emissions.
  • Support analyses, track metrics and visualise insights by creating dashboards and reports.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Finance).
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills by providing practical business insights from large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with Python and its data analytics stack (e.g. pandas, numpy, matplotlib).
  • Strong SQL proficiency.
  • Good understanding of various data formats (e.g. Excel, SQL, JSON, logs) and how to extract meaningful information.
  • Data driven communication and strong visualisation skills.
  • Comfortable working with BI tools such as Looker.
  • Exposure to spatial analysis and GIS data is a plus.
  • Exposure to version control software such as Git.
  • Worked at a large tech company or high growth startup.
