Principal Security Architect, Product Security

Team Introduction: The Security Research team is responsible for designing and architecting the security mechanism of digital systems for the next generation vehicles with full autonomous driving capabilities, and also developing core security components (including software, tools) from the ground up. Our mission is to innovate next-generation vehicle security architecture and make it happen on mass-produced vehicles.   NIO is seeking a Principal Security Architect for its North American R&D Center based in North San Jose. The Architect will pioneer the security architecture of Next Generation Central Compute for NIO’s Software Defined Vehicle Stack, to protect and harden OS, Software, ECs, Middleware, Networking and Cloud Services. You will have opportunity to deploy your security results in the world's leading smart vehicle system. Responsibilities

• Design and architect the next generation secure systems software, frameworks and tools related to Central Compute for NIO's Automotive Platform.
• Perform R&D into Proof of Concept, designing next generation Central Compute advancing NIO's Systems Software Platform and Vehicles into greater autonomy.
• Lead the security design of scalable software platform (including vehicle operating system, hardware abstraction, middleware) for intelligent vehicles.
• Research on the frontier security issues in the current vehicle digital system, including building trusted execution environment, hardening system and applications, and proposing new security designs built upon new hardware features.

Requirements:

• 5+ years Security Architecture experience and Research, Design and Delivery of products.
• 10+ years security development experience delivering complex systems and platforms
• Strong systems thinker with deep understanding of the security mechanism of real-time, embedded systems.
• Familiar with various TEEs, able to use at least one TEE, such as Intel SGX, AMD SEV, ARM TrustZone, etc.
• Familiar with automotive electronics and microcontrollers, and have relevant security research experience
• Great communication skills. Ability to influence and socialize technical ideas across the engineering organization.
• Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, cybersecurity or related area.
