Job Description

Position Overview

As a member of the Estimating team, you will be responsible forevaluating construction and capital cost of utility-scale wind, solar,and energy storage projects across Invenergy\'s development portfolio.

This on-site position is located at our headquarters in Chicago,Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full engineering, procurement, and construction costs forutility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects
  • Analyze historical procurement and construction costs to identifyand implement trends into estimating means and methods
  • Drive progress in building new tools and procedures to ensure thatInvenergy\'s approach to project estimation exceeds industrystandards
  • Build relationships with third-party contractors to improve companyinsight on the renewable industry\'s best construction practices
  • Visit prospective projects from time to time across the country toalign cost estimates with applicable site conditions, including butnot limited to: site accessibility, topography, hydrology, andinfrastructure presence
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and constructionteams, as well as key contractors in the market.
  • Evaluate contractor proposals to ensure contractor bids align withclient expectations
  • Assess project budget validity from preconstruction throughcontracting and project closeout

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 0 - 3 years of experience in construction, estimating, engineeringor related professional experience.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in an engineering or related technical disciplineincluding but not limited to Physics, Construction Management, andEnvironmental Science.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, given itsfrequent use in this role.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction, estimating, or engineering experience with wind,solar, or energy storage technologies
  • Familiarity with Procore, RSMeans, or similar estimating software
  • Familiarity with site design tools including CAD and GIS software
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products such as Project, Word, andPowerPoint
  • Experience with data analysis, preferably with construction costsand/or forecasting
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projectsat a time
