As the VP Finance you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company's operations and providing strategic financial leadership. Working closely with the Germany CEO and our CFO in Sweden, you will develop and execute financial plans, implement robust financial controls, and drive informed decision-making to support our growth ambitions.

The size of our current operation is still modest, with day-to-day accounting outsourced, and hence the recently kicked off investment project will be very much in focus. Over time you will build and develop the local finance team. In establishing the financing structure, you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Corporate finance function, and in many other areas you will work together with the Group Finance function who provide expertise in areas such as IFRS, treasury and tax.

As a VP Finance you will be a critical member of the German management team, and you will bring a finance perspective to the the full set of tasks, focusing on planning, execution and follow up. Our organisational setup is matrix-like, and you will act both as the finance business partner to the Executive manager for Drei, and as extension of the central CFO-organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and executing the company's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business goals and objectives. Have a close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, legal, and IT, to drive process improvements, optimize resource allocation, and support business initiatives.
  • Lead funding efforts, including collaboration with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to secure necessary funding for business operations and expansions.
  • Conducting financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Overseeing the company's accounting, financial operations, and reporting functions, including ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports.
  • Assess and monitor financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets and investments.

The person we are looking for is driven, caring and structured. You want to lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, collaboration and professional growth. You are used to a high paced work environment, strong analytical skills and can see the overall picture. Got exceptionally good negotiation skills, and ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.

Northvolt is an equal opportunity employer. We're a diverse group of individuals, united by a common mission, who recognise that while our actions as individuals have a role to play in driving Northvolt towards its goals, we always seek to move forward as a team. We offer you an open and welcoming atmosphere where we win as a team – and fail as a team. Northvolt is growing at the speed of light and we are a strong believer in internal career development.
