  • Provide process and technology engineering support to proposal/project teams in the planning, design, execution, and commissioning for projects related to HZI Anaerobic Digestion, Power to Gas, Waste Fuel Boilers, Flue Gas Treatment, etc. products.
  • Support proposals and projects by developing process specifications, process descriptions, process design criteria, mass balance calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), etc.
  • Provide support to Business Development and Sales in the preparation of presentations, documentation, Invitation to Bid (ITB) deliverables, etc.
  • Support commercial discussions related to HZI equipment and system performance guarantees.
  • Execute engineering scope and work plan for the process and technology discipline on complex projects for Front End Engineering and Design (FEED), Engineering-Procure (EP) and Engineering-Procure-Construct (EPC), and Build-Own-Operate (BOO) type projects.
  • Ensure HZI equipment and system designs are compliant with HZI standards, Contractual obligations, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Design of process systems including mass flow balances, material flow analysis, heat transfer calculations, and fluid flow calculations.
  • Preparation of process design data and documents such as Design Basis, Heat and Mass Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Datasheets, Alarm/Trip setpoint rationale, Process Safety Time criteria for both proposals and projects.
  • Ensure HZI equipment and system designs are compliant with HZI Standards, Contractual Obligations, and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Complete process engineering tasks related to the development of system designs and equipment selection for proposal and projects within agreed upon man-hour budgets and schedules.
  • Identify and recommend for evaluation improvement opportunities related to cost and/or schedule alternatives, options, and solutions and present clear and concise fact-based recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to on-site teams during construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and warranty, etc. for projects.  This includes support from home office as well as on-site support as needed.
  • Support maintenance of the Process and Technology core knowledge-base for HZI (Anaerobic Digestion, Power to Gas, Waste Fuel Boilers, Flue Gas Treatment, etc.) products as well as adapt and configure established European designs to comply with North American market requirements.
  • Participate in Plot Plan, 3D Model and P&ID Reviews, as well as safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP/ SIL) for proposals and projects.
  • Maintain the technical quality of process and technology deliverables issued for proposals and projects.
  • Support complex technical discussions with key stakeholders (customers, business partners, suppliers, and other departments/disciplines) in order to facilitate appropriate technical decisions.
  • Support formal studies/technical briefings and present design issues and options to key stakeholders (customers, business partners, suppliers, and other departments/disciplines). Identify issues (problems, value improvement opportunities) and help clarify areas of complexity during all phases of the engineering design work.
  • Office and/or on-site support for start-up, commissioning, and operator training related to HZI scope of work.
  • Understand multi-disciplinary technical issues and be able to provide innovative technical solutions to resolve these issues.
  • Seek ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.  Adhere to quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with work instructions, standard practices, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related activities as requested.
