About the Job

As the Commercial Executive in the CleanTech & energy industry, you always have recruiters on your tail. Having secured partnerships and closing deals with ticket sizes exceeding R20-million, your commercial strategy is sought after by every organization in the energy game. In fact, your ability to close deals in the private sectors C&I (ideally large estates and property developments) is key.

Our client is a smart energy-saving company that is making clean energy affordable and reliable for all South Africans, recently closing on major funding to rapidly take on the market. Their offering is diversified to include cutting edge AI software and user-centric design that come together to create innovative energy-saving solutions and products that are tailored to residential and commercial markets. We are on the hunt for a professional with embedded knowledge of the energy market... meaning that you have built deep relationships with the C-Suite at solar companies, property developers, and other industry leaders.

The potential for growth in this role is exponential. You would be leading our client's South African division with the potential for expansion into neighbouring countries. Their leadership team has worked with and for some of the biggest brands on the international stage, our client invests in innovative problem-solvers who exhibit an entrepreneurial nature and those who have acute intelligence. This is your opportunity to position yourself as integral to the success of rapidly expanding, highly purposeful, and profitable industry. 

With 8+ years of experience in building and leading world-class teams in the energy sector (and yes this includes software solutions to the energy sector), you will have an impressive track record of commercial success. Closing big-ticket deals, we want to see that you have driven sales to achieve annual values of R60-million through to R100-million. These values are not sweat, they are your bread and butter - your staple diet. Your business savvy would effectively unlock new avenues for our client, resulting in at least a 30% year-on-year revenue growth. Sounds like a challenge you want to dig your teeth into?

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies
  • Lead and mentor the B2B sales team to achieve targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Build strong customer relationships and drive customer success
  • Collaborate with the product team on go-to-market strategies
  • Work with product marketing for sales collateral and lead generation
  • Develop accurate revenue forecasts and track performance
  • Represent our client at industry events, positioning the company as a thought leader
