The Role

Voltaiq is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team. You will help grow our backend data platform to handle incoming data streams and to serve data to internal and external consumers. You will develop scalable systems for data storage, processing, and access, while supporting machine learning and analytics. You will learn how data is used in battery product development and manufacturing and in the context of mobile devices, electrical vehicles, and the power grid.

In this role you will take satisfaction in designing, developing, and delivering powerful data pipelines to customers working at the cutting edge of one of the world’s fastest-growing and most important industries: Batteries!

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science or a related field or comparable experience.

  • Experience in Python programming language.

  • Experience working with SQL.

  • Experience with Pandas and dataframes.

  • Desire to learn new technologies.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals.

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Excellent communication skills.


Our Stack


We deploy on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud by leveraging Terraform and Ansible to build and maintain our infrastructure as code. We use Jenkins to automate our build, test, and deploy pipelines. We monitor and gain insights into our systems using Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana, and Loggly. Our languages and notable frameworks and libraries include Python, Javascript, Java, Django, Django REST, React, AngularJS, Plotly.js, and Plotly Dash. We use Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis for asynchronous data processing and scheduled tasks. For persistence we use PostgreSQL and the Linux filesystem.


Voltaiq is a remote-first company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each city. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 plus equity, depending on location and experience.
