Your role and your team:

In this position, you will report directly into our Co-Founder and VP Product and work closely with members of other cross-divisional management teams.

In this role, you will work on all aspects of matters of product related software engineering for Lilium. The company is embarking on an entirely new concept, to create a truly vertical integrated mobility service, which aims to connect the aircraft design, the airport and airline services. Thus, the hiring, lead and development of an ambitious team, creating top-notch engineering software is an essential success factor of our service.

In this team you create the framework for world class product software and lead all technical aspects of our digital platform development for our mobility services. You will have a strong collaborative interaction with our CIO and the whole IT and cybersecurity team.

Our mission on regional air mobility is bold, it is new and will require global top talent to make it happen.

Your Day to Day

• Hire, lead and develop a diverse and ambitious software engineering team working on multiple features in multiple team locations at the same time
• Create, live and breathe an engineering culture that delivers top-notch software in an agile environment on time and budget
• Create a process framework in which the software gets tested automatically in compliance with the requirements we state on the diverse platforms
• Develop and monitor engineering KPI’s and transform structures such, that the software delivery is according to our program
• Develop a framework in which our engineers will flourish and create their own development drumbeat
• Review software architecture of the services platforms and develop corresponding tech stacks with the architecture teams leads

Your Profile

• Track record of leading multiple world class software teams working on multiple features and in empowered product delivery teams.
• Min. of 8 years of professional experience in Tier 1 service oriented product companies with steady career progression
• Proven record of delivering world class product software as a developer and technical leader on time, quality and budget
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
• Outstanding academic track record
• Sc., M.Eng., PhD or similar from a top scientific institute is a strong plus
• Great team player and exceptional leader with humble yet ambitious attitude
• Proven demonstration of the creation lead of multiple agile working environments (Kanban, Scrum, Lean etc.) and the associated processes for quality assurance and requirement compliance in a broader software architecture
• Technology agnostic but an experienced advocate of modern trends in architecture, frameworks, languages, hosting and tooling
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Out of the box thinker and strong motivation to learn
• Drive, resilience, and passion for the triple A-problem we are solving
