Here’s how:</p><p>You'll be working within our OVO Technology Delivery team. Our OVO Tech Delivery team provides delivery support across a range of product teams, projects and programmes that enable all of OVO group companies to deliver on their mission. </p><p>Delivery Manager roles at OVO are responsible for working with a broad range of people that include exceptionally talented Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, Researchers, Data Scientists and Marketers to build products that our users love.</p><h3><strong><br>This role in a nutshell:</strong></h3><p>Managing the day to day delivery of teams across OVO Tech. Helping to ensure fast and efficient delivery of our new initiatives and capabilities.</p><h3><strong><br>Your key outcomes will be:</strong></h3><ul><li>Your career with OVO Tech will be varied: OVO’s Tech Delivery consists of a variety of delivery approaches, based on what’s best to get the work done with the teams involved. We prioritise learning with teams, giving you space to agree on the delivery approach.<br><br></li><li>You'll have accountability for deliveries in one of our consumer facing domain teams. These domains together provide all of the technology which allows us to support our customers. <br><br></li><li>Reporting to a Senior Delivery Manager, you will be part of the Tech Delivery team, working with product and engineering cross functional teams to deliver great outcomes for our customers but also helping to continually improve tech delivery, and support and develop our teams.<br><br></li></ul><h3><strong>You’ll be a successful Delivery Manager at OVO if you…</strong></h3><ul><li>Have good experience and awareness of agile techniques and optimising delivery processes.<br><br></li><li>Have experience putting these skills to work to enable smooth flow of work through technology teams with a focus on ensuring delivery of desired outcomes.<br><br></li><li>Be able to converse with stakeholders and teams to shape their requirements and the delivery approach.<br><br></li><li>You do not need to be an expert in technology but you should have a good awareness of the technologies, capabilities and skills required for a team to be successful in this space.<br><br></li></ul><h3><strong>The skills we are looking for are:</strong></h3><p><strong>Agile and Lean practices</strong></p><p>Know about and can lead on a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques, with an ability to coach within and outside of your team. You can establish a feedback loop for teams; you can take responsibility for the translation and measurement of value (what you put in and what you will get out).</p><p><strong>Commercial management</strong></p><p>Can support effective budget management within the constraints of the project. You know how to monitor projected budgets against expenditure.</p><p><strong>Communication skills</strong></p><p>Know how to communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context. You can advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity. You know how to successfully react and respond to challenge.</p><p><strong>Life-cycle perspective</strong></p><p>Understand the different phases of delivery and can contribute to, plan or run these. Can maintain a product or process through the delivery phases, into live and then into retirement. You know how to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery product life cycle. You understand incident management and service support so that products are built effectively.</p><p><strong>Maintaining delivery momentum</strong></p><p>Can solve issues and unblock problems. You know how to drive a team and set the pace, ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments. You can engage in elements of risk management such as effectively managing and tracking the mitigation of risks. You can manage various dependencies across teams and departments. </p><p><strong>Making the process work</strong></p><p>Focus on the outcome, not frameworks. You can challenge and improve disproportionate organisational processes where it impacts the pace of the team. You can identify what works best for the team and when to utilise certain processes. </p><p><strong>Planning</strong> </p><p>You can take a consistent and ongoing approach to planning, forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and roadmapping. You know how to communicate plans, planning assumptions and progress to a range of stakeholders. You can maintain the cadence of delivery and manage the relationships between different people within and across teams.</p><p><strong>Team dynamics and collaboration</strong> </p><p>You know how to build successful delivery teams. You understand team styles and how people work together. You can maintain, influence and motivate a team. You can give and receive feedback, facilitating the feedback loop. </p><p>You can ensure the health of a team and facilitate conflict resolution, accelerating team performance. You can ensure that the team works in a transparent way and that the work is understood externally. </p><h3><em><br></em><strong>Let’s talk about what’s in it for you</strong></h3><p>We’ll pay you between £42,710 and £66,630, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!</p><p>We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.</p><p>You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal. </p><p>We also offer plenty of green benefits and progressive policies to help you feel like you belong at OVO…and there’s flex pay.  It’s an extra 9% of your salary on top of your core pay to use as you like.
