This position aims to find an individual who can oversee the transition of novel laser processes from the later stages of development to production. The ideal candidate will possess experience in pilot production, enabling them to make well-informed decisions to ensure the successful processing of diamond materials with high yield using equipment that is in the final stages of development. This role will involve monitoring production throughout the day shift or night and weekend operations for comprehensive oversight.


Responsibilities:

  • Initiating troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment and tools at the forefront.
  • Conducting sample preparation through precise measurement, inspection, and loading/unloading into R&D and pilot laser equipment.
  • Collaborating with Engineering on diverse non-standard test/inspections as necessary.
  • Operating associated process equipment, including high-temperature furnaces, with precision.
  • Executing designed experiments, meticulously documenting results with relevant measurements.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in a technical field, military technical training, or 3+ years work experience in a related technical field.
  • Understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly.
  • Comfortability in handling Class 4 (high-power) lasers, as well as mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, alongside proficiency with computers and high-temperature processes.
  • Knowledge of operating microscopes, sample measurement, and comprehensive characterization.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist,  climb, balance, stoop, squat,  kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions. 
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
