About The Role

The Specialist, EHS is responsible for working with EHS Director and Managers with the company’s safety program to ensure a safe, injury, and incident-free work environment. We have a need for a Specialist, EHS that can function as a Safety Specialist in the field and implement Solar Landscape’s EHS Program, to include Operation and Maintenance of owned sites.


Responsibilities

  • Report to Director on all safety matters.
  • Reinforce a positive, world class safety culture within the company and Sub-Contractors.
  • Implement Corporate Safety Policy and procedures for the company, including but not limited to: Site Specific Health and Safety Plan; Project Site Observations reports; Incident Investigation; Training and means and methods geared towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to assess Safety needs pre-mobilization. 
  • Help Manage Project Safety on-site of multiple projects.
  • Be able to work by yourself.
  • Learn to seek and provide interpretations on regulatory and safety issues.
  • Act as safety liaison for the company with Sub-Contractors.
  • Visit sites, develop rapport with leaders and crew, determine gaps in. understanding and implementation of safety expectations, conduct audits, and provide feedback.
  • Understand the basic administrative requirements of an EHS Program.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years Construction or General Industry experience in Safety.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortable working at elevated heights.
  • Proficient in public speaking and presenting to groups.
  • Experience Conducting training.
  • Successful completion Certifications preferred: CHST, or OHST (willing to get it).
  • Knowledge of health and safety processes and practices.
  • Evaluate the probable physical hazards and take essential steps to minimize them.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to research and apply the best practices to provide effective services.
  • Research safety information pertaining to all applicable states, local municipalities, etc.
