Sr. Director, Transactions

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our rapidly growing Transaction team at Atheva as a VP, Transactions. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of managing and closing deals, and driving revenue growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for consistently enhancing the deal process, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and working with the entire team to continue providing a seamless experience to our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with potential clients.
  • Drive decision-making, and improvements throughout the transaction process, and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of clean energy projects, identifying   potential financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project viability and compliance.
  • Analyze and evaluate clean energy projects to determine their eligibility for tax credits and incentives.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and engineering teams to gather necessary documentation and ensure all qualification criteria are met.
  • Prepare tax credit postings and summaries highlighting key points for buyers.
  • Handle intake requests and provide clients with detailed explanations of risk assessments, qualification processes, and project status updates.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure their projects meet all required criteria for tax credit eligibility.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax credit laws, renewable energy regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to the latest regulatory requirements, providing guidance and training to internal teams as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of risk assessments, project evaluations, and tax credit applications.
  • Build your network within the clean energy industry.
  • Represent Atheva at industry conferences, workshops, and meetings to promote the company’s clean energy initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Background in one of the following areas highly preferred, Finance, Tax Equity, Underwriting, Project Finance, Real Estate Development, or Investment Banking.
  • Proven track record of closing a high volume of complex deals (from prospect to close).
  • Goal-oriented with a focus on achieving revenue targets.
  • Low ego and able to roll up sleeves and initiate/complete tasks and projects independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in analysis and documentation.
