βœ… Job Overview:

This role will be responsible for managing operational functions at the Burlington branch.

 

βš’οΈ Responsibilities:

Management of Technicians, Yard, and Shop

  • Direct oversight of technicians, yard, and shop.
  • Oversee training of technicians. Conduct periodic performance reviews.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Fulfill service contracts that go beyond available service technician capacity.
  • Promote a culture of safety by leading the company’s safety protocols at the Burlington Hub.
  • Create and maintain a fun, safe, and effective work environment.

Team Scheduling and Customer Communication

  • Schedule job tickets, routes, and pick-up and delivery sequences daily to serve our customers.
  • Lead pre-trip communication with drivers that may impact their scheduled services or deliveries (schedules, route changes, road conditions, etc).
  • Ensure post trip communication with drivers to ensure that any issues, additional services, daily notes are being captured and acted upon.
  • Field customer communications, inbound and outbound, regarding expected delivery/service times or issues such as locked gates or missed services.
  • Work with team members in sales and customer support to schedule services and meet customer needs.
  • Provide drivers with needed resources and support drivers during reported emergencies.
  • Review timesheets for payroll approval. Review PTO requests for approval and schedule accordingly.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for community engagement and education.

Operational Excellence and Reporting

  • Monitor service quality and efficiencies, recommending improvements for operational excellence and customer care. Keep corporate informed on issues and issue resolution.
  • Work with the operations team to develop and implement SOPs.
  • Report on operational data: mileage, efficiencies, service level, overtime, fuel, etc.
  • Responsible for fleet DOT administration and record keeping.
  • Support in fulfilling impact initiatives like facilitating the introduction of urine-derived fertilizers back to farms.

  • Able to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion, lift 30 lbs from the floor to your head, push/pull 100 lbs horizontally
  • Able to sit while driving or working on the computer, stand/squat while servicing equipment, enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
  • Knowledge of shop equipment (ratchet straps, pallet jacks, rivet guns, drills, pumps, etc) 
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Managerial experience 
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication
  • Customer service skills 
  • Attention to detail
  • Diligence managing a budget
  • Computer literacy (GoogleSuite and routing/logistics software)
