This role involves partnering closely with the founding team to define and execute Kanop's scientific vision, drive technological innovation, and build a transformative platform for environmental data analytics. <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Lead the development and refinement of our offerings to ensure high accuracy and compliance with global standards.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Drive innovation in the measurement and monitoring of biodiversity, biomass, and ecosystem health.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Oversee scientific research and development, ensuring the integration of the latest advancements in technology and environmental policy.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and data analysts.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Ensure the scientific integrity and robustness of our data, methodologies, and reporting.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Engage with regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and academic partners to contribute to, and stay ahead of emerging trends, standards, and policy developments.</li>

<h1>What we are looking for</h1>
The ideal candidate will have:

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A PhD or equivalent experience in environmental science, environmental policy, or a related field.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Proven leadership experience in a scientific or technological role, preferably within a high-growth startup environment.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Deep expertise in technology and its application in environmental monitoring.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A strong understanding of environmental policy and regulatory frameworks, notably in regards to carbon and biodiversity markets.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A track record of successful R&amp;D projects and publications in relevant fields.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to translate scientific vision into actionable plans.</li>
