Job Brief

The Project Manager on the Capital Projects team will lead the planning, procurement, contract negotiation, and construction management of Brimstone’s Oakland pilot plant facility. This role will expand to include subsequent projects; such as demonstration plants and beyond. The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with engineering teams and possess a deep understanding of capital projects philosophies and management principles. They must be adept at meeting deadlines and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Focus Areas may include:

- Manage the project lifecycle from conception through completion, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and project execution.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure project delivery aligns with Brimstone’s goals and operational requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between departments to ensure projects are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct risk management planning, including identification, analysis, and mitigation, to proactively manage project risks.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring partnerships and contracts align with Brimstone’s values and objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project status, challenges, and outcomes to the executive team and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in project execution and environmental sustainability.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and systems to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve outcomes.


For this role, we're looking for:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience leading a core team and owning projects ranging from $5 to $30 million, preferably in the mining, manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
- 8 years of progressive project management experience.
- Significant experience creating budgets and monitoring/reporting project financials.
- Project cost control experience.
- Deep understanding of sustainable practices in project management and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.


Additional skills that are preferred but not required:

- Experience with projects funded by US government grants.
- History of working at rapidly scaling companies.


Compensation, Benefits, and Perks

- Salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000 per year
