✔️Salary Range: $8,550.00 - $10,579.00 per month and full benefits!

✔️Hybrid telework option available (California based position). If the successful caniddate is 50 miles or more away from our HQ building in Midtown Sacramento, they do not need to report to the office. Must live or plan to relocate to CA. to be eligible.

 

This integral position will serve as a knowledgeable resource on policy, technology, market, and strategic issues and will play a primary role in coordination and collaboration with other state, federal, and local agencies, interested stakeholders, and the public. This position will have the opportunity to do meaningful work on the topics of automated daily load shifting and systemwide decarbonization and help the CEC towards its goal of building a clean energy future for all!

This role independently performs the technical and analytical work on the topics of automated daily load shifting and systemwide decarbonization. The Load Flexibility Branch has primary responsibility of developing and implementing load management standards and flexible demand appliances programs, policies, and regulations, that enable automated flexible demand, in a feasible, consumer-friendly, and cost-effective manner.

 

What you need to qualify:

  1. Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on year-for-year basis.)
  2. Experience: Three years of progressively responsible technical professional experience in electric generation system planning, design, evaluation, or operation, including two years of experience above the trainee level. (A Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or other closely related field, may be substituted for one year of the required experience.)

 

Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of load management, load flexibility, and demand-side management.

• Proficiency with SQL database design (SQL is a standard language for storing, manipulating, and retrieving data in databases.) and application programming interface (API) programming at the project management level. Specifically, familiarity with designing database enhancements, fixes to address user feedback, and work tracking to communicate with programmers.

• Experience leading large data projects with cloud-based solutions which meet requirements for increased reliability, scalability, and responsiveness.

• Ability to learn and understand complex technical IT and demand side energy management concepts.

• Proficiency in writing, analyzing, evaluating, challenging, developing, and defending policy reports.

• Proficiency in performing energy calculations and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses.

• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize workload, collaboratively work within a team, interact respectfully with stakeholders, and provide consultation to management and commissioners.

• Experience leading technical projects.
