Gridmatic is hiring for our first in-house technical recruiter to support our engineering growth. We’re looking for someone who has worked at startups or high-growth environments and is exceptional at finding and closing strong engineering talent. You’d be working in a full-cycle capacity, from top-of-funnel strategy to negotiating and closing candidates.
The focus will be on rapidly growing our software engineering team, which involves hiring backend, full-stack, infra, and site reliability engineers. As the first in-house technical recruiter, you’d play a key role in the company’s culture and growth and help define and improve how we hire at Gridmatic.
We are currently 40 employees with a goal of expanding to 60 in the next 6 months with continued growth necessary over the next 24 months. Our mission, to enable the ascent of clean energy in the world’s electricity markets, is ambitious and challenging. This role will be instrumental in helping us build the team that can achieve it.


What you'll be working on:

  • Candidate sourcing. Leveraging outbound, inbound, referrals, and other channels to identify talent and working with hiring managers to find great matches for what they’re looking for.
  • Assessing technical candidates. Collaborate with hiring teams to assess technical talent against the requirements of the role.
  • Selling candidates on the company and mission. Developing a deep understanding of Gridmatic’s business, and being able to convey that effectively to prospective hires.
  • Closing candidates. Finding resourceful ways to influence candidates’ decision to join Gridmatic.
  • Improving the hiring process. Identifying where the gaps are in our end-to-end hiring process, and finding ways to improve it.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, preferably as an in-house recruiter at a startup or high-growth company.
  • Have proven success in recruiting strong software engineers across different roles—backend, full-stack, infra, and site reliability. Bonus if you’ve hired ML engineers and data scientists.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are highly self-directed, can efficiently manage your own work, and are comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced startup.
  • Care deeply about candidate experience.
  • Are excited to contribute to solving problems in climate and energy.
