GOPA Group US is seeking a Senior Manager of Contracts and Business Operations to support the Washington, D.C., based branch of GOPA Group. This position is full-time and reports to the Managing Director. The position is hybrid, allowing for in- person meetings with the team and key stakeholders in Washington, D.C., as needed.
The Senior Manager will develop, coordinate, and lead the management and compliance of contracts and business operations. The role includes implementing and facilitating processes across GOPA US, GOPA Group (Germany/Europe), and with partners globally. The Senior Manager will help to maintain corporate compliance and ensure that we employ and communicate appropriate processes and practices.

In this role, you will establish and maintain project infrastructure and operational management systems from capture, negotiation and project start-up and close-out. You will work closely with other senior leadership and administration (such as legal, finance, and procurement) to ascertain needs and develop short-, medium-, and long-term plans to continuously strengthen internal processes and systems. You know best practices and can apply them to a growing organization. You must have experience in international development with USAID. MCC experience is a bonus.  You will lead the process of developing and negotiating commercial contracts. This includes working closely with internal teams and external parties (suppliers, partners, and customers). Expertise in contract negotiation tactics to ensure favorable terms for the organization while safeguarding its interests and minimizing legal risks is highly valued.
 
You will collaborate with HR and finance teams on various aspects of operation, including the management of employer and vendor records, travel, asset management, office lease management, financial compliance with rules and regulations, internal audit, and support new business development.

Responsibilities


Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way:
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
  • Perform quality controls and help to develop and monitor Corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage budgets relevant to operations. 
  • Finalize, develop, and/or revise operational management systems manuals and processes. 
  • Develop, refine, and disseminate standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead analysis of staffing vis a vis organizational growth and oversee consultant contracts.
  • Assist in recruitment and training/onboarding of new staff.
  • Lead the process of developing and negotiating commercial contracts.
A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US
Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, or similar role.
  • Proven experience with organizational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Proven knowledge of current USG contracting rules and regulations such as AIDARs, FARs, ADS, etc.
  • Familiarity with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  • The ability to support the development of financial models that help to identify revenue opportunities and help plan staffing. 
  • Experience managing budget successfully, accurately forecasting budget needs, and working across cultures to resolve budget and finance accounts – process and reporting.
  • Experience developing strategies and processes to align with organizational vision.
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exhibits strong initiative to support a growing organization.
  • Outstanding organizational and technology skills.
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment.
  • Some international travel may be required.
