The opportunity

Based in either Chicago or Washington DC, the Marketing & Communications Director will work in partnership with a high-profile global team of climate and nature leaders. The role has a dual focus – it will lead B2B digital marketing for the global business, as well as lead broader marketing and communications initiatives in North America.

Pollination is a high growth scale-up business, and this role will have the opportunity to think big and set strategy, as well as be hands on in technical execution. You’ll be backed by an ambitious and supportive global team including in-house and external content producers, as well as best in-class tools like Salesforce’s Account Engagement.  This role reports to the global Head of Marketing and Communications, based in Sydney, Australia.

Key responsibilities:

Lead B2B digital marketing for the global business:

  • Increase lead generation and conversion with thought leadership content led digital campaigns.
  • Develop and manage regular eDM campaigns, including automation.
  • Deliver, manage and monitor the performance of 'always on' activities across the website, SEO, paid digital, social and analytics.
  • Regularly monitor the performance of all digital assets, providing regular insights and recommendations to the business through effective reporting and analysis of results.

Drive local marketing and communications initiatives in North America:

  • Create marketing collateral and original content in a variety of formats.
  • Identify industry event and sponsorship opportunities to increase brand awareness, ensuring consistent messaging and feel across the North America market.
  • Develop and run local events, with the support of the events manager in Australia
  • Identify opportunities and provide support to the global PR team.

What do you need to apply?

This position plays a fundamental role in driving digital brand engagement and requires an experienced, proactive and agile candidate who can contribute to strategy and manage multiple projects. To be considered for this role, your background and experience must meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in digital, business, marketing or other related discipline.
  • At least 7-10+ years of relevant experience, gained in a corporate or agency environment, and proven capabilities of applying digital marketing knowledge to a service business.
  • Experience leveraging digital marketing and email automation platforms – Salesforce Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) experience highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing social media – both organic and paid strategies.
  • Experience in data analytics, performance optimization and reporting, with a solid grounding in the importance of data-driven decision making.
  • Awareness and interest in the latest trends and technologies.
  • Strong copy writing and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced, reactive environment and can manage multiple projects with high quality outcomes.

Whilst maintaining good work-life harmony is important to us, we will require a certain amount of flexibility to work outside of office hours when necessary, to accommodate the demands of a global business spanning multiple time zones.

    You’ll love this role if…

    • You thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment and are comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
    • You are adaptable and proactive, calm under pressure and able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
    • You are a great communicator and able to effectively manage the needs of diverse stakeholders.
    • You are a motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a global team
