Job Overview

Are you a recent graduate passionate about technology and innovation? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments? We are seeking an Associate Product Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our mission to decarbonize the grid by assisting Product Managers in managing the lifecycle and product strategy for the intelligent grid sensor portfolio. This includes supporting the creation of Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), prioritizing and coordinating sustainment activities, and managing product configuration documents.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Interpret customer requirements and translate them into clear product requirements and use cases in PRDs.
  • Support R&D feasibility/traceability reviews.
  • Collaborate with Technical Training to develop product documentation and training materials.
  • Work with the Project Management Organization (PMO) to manage cost and timeline expectations.

Market Research & Product Management:

  • Understand market trends and conduct research to address market and business needs.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned products.
  • Develop customer communications such as Customer Information Letters, Product Updates, and Release Notes.
  • Ensure all parts of the organization are properly educated on product features and functionality.

Business Processes & Quality:

  • Contribute to business reviews and planning sessions.
  • Support and adhere to Landis+Gyr’s quality processes.
  • Present at industry events, internal sales meetings, and customer-specific meetings.
  • Manage the sustainment of existing product offerings.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with customers and cross-functional teams, including R&D, Deployment, Sales and Marketing, and Supply Chain.
  • Demonstrate distinct functional and professional knowledge to ensure the highest caliber of work products and deliverables.
  • Influence individuals and organizations not under direct reporting relationships.

Skills & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering or computer science.

Experience:

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Training:

  • Formal Product Management training, such as Pragmatic Marketing or New Product Introduction (NPI) process, is desired.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT) and electrical sensing concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of existing and emerging networking technologies.
  • Superior computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Business Acumen:

  • Thorough understanding of business fundamentals and the roles of various departments (marketing, sales, economics, manufacturing, business management, engineering).
  • Deep understanding of marketing concepts and market research.

Soft Skills:

  • Proven critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, project management, and resource deployment.
  • Ability to influence individuals and organizations not under a direct reporting relationship.

Pay is in the range of $73,031 - $112,955 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
