For more information, please visit <a href="http://www.karenclarkandco.com/">www.kcc.us.com</a>.Responsibilities<ul><li>Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop and/or update vulnerability functions for flood models</li><li>Research existing literature on flood damage from historical events, regional and national building codes, building inventories, construction practices, and damage mitigation measures to accurately characterize flood vulnerability</li><li>Compile and document related literature and datasets required for model development</li><li>Conduct model sensitivity and validation tests</li><li>Provide documentation for technical publications</li><li>Conduct post disaster field surveys after major events</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>MS in Civil, Structural, Coastal, or Flood Engineering required, PhD a plus</li><li>In-depth knowledge of and skills in probability and statistical methods</li><li>Extensive knowledge of the physics of flooding events and the mechanics of building vulnerability to flood</li><li>Excellent presentation and communication skills</li><li>Experience with remote sensing data is a plus</li><li>Experience with GIS tools, such as ArcGIS and QGIS desired</li><li>Experience programming using Arcpy and geospatial tools is a plus </li></ul><ul></ul>
