You will be working on conceptual design, CAD modeling, and scaled prototyping of novel industrial hardware solutions to modify, enhance, and integrate power equipment in order to unlock the productization of a micro nuclear power plant. </div><br><br><h3>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan, design, and execute large industrial capital projects in the power generation sector.</li><li>Mechanical design, authoring technical reports, and generating analysis requirements for components</li><li>Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on structural components, both steady state and transient</li><li>Contribute to designing and analyzing tanks, pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers and other related components</li><li>Integrating various mechanical systems and components to ensure they work together seamlessly</li><li>Assemble, calibrate, and test hardware prototypes at the bench top scale and oversee these activities for third party contractors at the full scale</li><li>Designing fixtures and tooling to aid in the assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes</li><li>Optimize designs for ease of manufacturing, which includes considering assembly methods, tolerances, and minimizing manufacturing complexities</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field</li><li>4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or mechanical design for innovative product development, R&amp;D, manufacturing, fabrication or related fields</li><li>Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)</li><li>Adept at solving complex structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics challenges utilizing advanced techniques and software</li><li>Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using relevant software tools including ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Nastran, Radioss, or similar</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Knowledge of materials selection, stress analysis, and thermal design</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams</li><li>Creative thinking and a passion for innovation in mechanical design</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:14.6667px;">Last Energy provides decarbonized, reliable, affordable nuclear energy at scale by innovating on the delivery model, not the reactor.
