HSE Project Coordinator (Renewables)

HSE Project Coordinator (Spain) 

 Based in Spain and reporting to the HSQE Development & Construction Manager, you will be responsible for preparation and construction phase of NADARA’s development pipeline of solar and wind projects. This role will initially focus on the co-location of a large solar project with existing wind farms, and in a construction of a wind farms in Valladolid, Palencia and León.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations; 

• Develop and implement a Health & Safety and Environmental Plans for projects and procedures in Spain; 

• Conduct site inspections and audits; 

• Monitor project progress and report its status to management; 

• Develop and ensure the site’s risk assessment and maintain compliance with control measures throughout the construction phase; 

• Implement action plans concerning preventive and corrective activities at solar and wind farms; 

• Implement and coordinate emergency procedures; 

• Provide guidance to colleagues and contractors as required, e.g. guidance on method statements, safe systems of work, updated legislation etc.,  

• Define HSE training plans at a local level; 

• Provide training to workers on safety and environmental practices; 

• Manage, monitor and analyse HSE performance data; 

• Respond to and investigate accidents and incidents as required, ensuring clear investigations with identification of areas for improvement; 

• Support on the identification of hazards, evaluation and control of professional and environmental risks; 

• Participate in the design of initiatives to promote environmental and safety awareness internally and externally;  

• Review and validate HSE requirements in contracts.

Relevant Experience 

• Minimum 5 years of experience as HSE as Project Coordinator in renewable energy sector, especially solar and wind power projects;  

• Experience in developing and implementing safety and environmental procedures; 

• Experience in conducting site inspections and audits; 

• Experience working with IS0 14001, ISO45001 and IS0 9001 management systems. 

Education & Qualifications 

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Environmental Engineering; 

• Occupational Health & Safety Diploma (Ms, Post-Graduation or other recognised certification) 

• Fluent in English and Spanish. Other language is desirable; 

• Driver’s license. 

• Experience working with IS0 14001, ISO45001 and IS0 9001 management systems.
