Job Description:

Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation on quality management processes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, conducts research, and develops accurate technical content. Ensures alignment with industry standards and contributes to effective knowledge dissemination through training materials and datasheets.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create comprehensive documentation, including procedures, checklists, and manuals, detailing quality management processes and initiatives within the department.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accessible documents for various stakeholders, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data, conduct research, and develop accurate and up-to-date technical content.
  • Maintain and revise existing documentation, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and compliance with Quality Management Plans and industry regulations.
  • Provide expertise in creating training materials, job aids, and datasheets, contributing to effective knowledge dissemination within the organization.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing technical documents, for infrastructure planning and/or transportation engineering projects and/or FTA-Compliant quality documentation.
  • Experience working with quality management programs and plans is preferred.
  • Experience organizing technical information to document standards, rules, SOPs, and handbooks.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, English, or related field;
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Manager of Quality/Organization Excellence or
  • Certified Quality Auditor certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; and
  • High level of expertise using Microsoft Word and other desktop publishing software.
  • Experience in Transportation, more specifically Communication and Signaling will be an added advantage.
