Job SummaryThe Senior Project Surveyor (SPS) will lead key elements of the site-based post contract delivery based on site or clients' offices in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will be expected to work well as part of a team and autonomously and know when to reach back to the office / line manager for additional support.Job Duties<ul><li>To achieve the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the firm.</li><li>Experience in procurement and tendering</li><li>Ability to integrate with key members of the design team and Client team.</li><li>Assist in evaluating claims.</li><li>Preparation of financial updates and monthly cost reports.</li><li>Assesses and value progress payments and change requests.</li><li>Review and compare scopes of work, production rates, and cost data.</li><li>Preparation of earned value reports.</li><li>Prepare, review, and update cash-flows.</li><li>Estimate variation orders for Contractors/Subcontractors.</li><li>Evaluate and negotiates variations and change orders in liaison with the Contract Administrator, Design and Construction Teams.</li><li>Evaluate and negotiate final accounts settlements.</li></ul>Qualification<ul><li>Must have a QS or Engineering degree or similar equivalent</li><li>MRICS Desireable</li></ul>Specific Skills Required<ul><li>High level of literacy skills in English.</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent working knowledge of industry best practices</li></ul><ul><li> To be part of our commercial team on building projects</li><li>Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts</li><li>Knowledge of cost and contract management techniques, budget management and change control</li><li>Ability to present confidently</li><li>Ability to act with discretion and safeguarding confidentiality of project data.</li><li>Computer Literate, with specific experience in Cost Management software programs</li></ul>Person Specification (Personality Attributes)<ul><li>A dynamic, forward-thinking person with the skills to self-manage</li><li>Presentable and personable, this individual will be a team player and comfortable with working in a large team and dynamic environment.</li><li>Build successful working relationships with internal departments</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and establish priorities for the timely completion of work.</li><li>High level of professionalism, initiative and creativity.</li><li>Problem solving/lateral thinking skills.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>A minimum of 10 years’ experience with large scale projects.</li><li>Experience in various buidling projects beneficial.</li><li>Communication and formal English language skills are considered essential.</li></ul>
