Your mission
As a Quantitative Trader at FlexPower, you will play a key role in shaping the future of short-term power trading. If you have a passion for mathematics, programming, and energy markets, we want to hear from you! You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you model, analyze, and forecast to optimize trading strategies.
Your work will involve developing quantitative models, analyzing time series data, and applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to extract insights from market movements. You will collaborate closely with a jolly bunch of traders, engineers, and quantitative researchers to ensure that our strategies remain at the forefront of European energy markets.
We expect you to work regularly in our Hamburg office, with hybrid work options. This is an opportunity for problem solvers who thrive on analytical challenges and who want to make a real impact in the energy sector.
Your profile
You enjoy- Develop and implement statistical and machine-learning models
- Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities
- Work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environment
- Collaborate with fellow traders, engineers, and researchers to drive trading performance
You are confident in your ability to - Master complex mathematical concepts, including Linear Algebra, Calculus, and Optimization.
- Apply advanced statistical methods, from Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes to Statistical Inference, Time Series Analysis, and cutting-edge techniques like Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Gradient Boosting.
- Develop robust software solutions in Python (with additional experience in R and C++ being a plus)
- Navigate Agile workflows seamlessly, leveraging Version Control and CI/CD pipelines for efficient code deployment.
- (Optional) Understand the intricacies of short-term power trading in Europe, optimizing strategies in energy markets.
- (Optional) Analyze market microstructure through public Orderbook Updates and Trades.
- Leverage past experience working with time series data in a business setting, applying quantitative methodologies to extract valuable insights.
