ERM is seeking a part-time senior Technical Consulting Director with expertise in international transboundary movement for the technology sector to join our global consulting firm in the Washington, DC office.

We are looking for an industry leader who can provide technical expertise to our global technology clients in the areas of sustainability, waste, international trade, transboundary movement, and advancement of the circular economy. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary focus is on technical delivery of consulting support to deliver strategic value to our clients in the following industry segments:

  • Hardware
  • Electronic manufacturing and original design manufacturing
  • Software and IT services
  • Semiconductors
  • Internet media and services
  • Telecommunications

This consultant will play a key role in delivering and building capacity in ERM’s Sustainable Products and Supply Chain Service line across its broad portfolio of services:

  • Regulatory review and interpretation
  • Product compliance and life cycle management
  • Advisory support
  • Strategic planning
  • Public policy advocacy and engagement

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/MS engineering, environmental management, science, or related degree.
  • 15+ years’ progressive experience in a consulting environment, working substantially with industrial clients; preferably the technology sector.
  • In-depth understanding of the technology, media and telecommunications industries and the companies operating in this sector, including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business in industry hubs across North America and globally.
  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment and meeting strict deadlines.

For the Technical Consulting Director, Sustainable Products (Director Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $147,240 – $165,925 (USD).  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above.  This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
