CONTEXT:

Like Eurofins as a whole, the Consumer Product Testing group is growing fast. The organization managing Softlines, Toys and Hardlines retailers is now even stronger after multiple recent acquisitions, is expanding and looking for business development professionals to continue the journey to make Eurofins a global leader in these customer segments.

ROLE OBJECTIVES:

The responsibility of the Director of Business Development is to identify new prospects and initiate and nurture relationships, identify business needs and opportunities and coordinate internal resources to generate new revenue. This particular role will focus on both Softlines and Hardlines side of the organization. This role is for hunters and connectors that understand compliance and quality assurance in a global supply chain industry and are exceptionally gifted in creating new business relationships. Success will be measured, and well rewarded, based on the number and size of new customer relationships created. This role is integrally part of a commercial team that needs different talents to achieve high performance and team success.

TASKS:

  • Become very familiar with Eurofins offering, laboratory network, organization and tools
  • Develop leads provided to create opportunities
  • Identify potential customers based on research and previous experience and initiate contact
  • Work with external companies, marketing and other resources to improve lead generation
  • Find decision makers and initiate contact
  • Identify critical needs and create interest in Eurofins
  • When needed, assemble internal team to support development of presentations, proposals or other activity to gather interest and advance Eurofins’ agenda
  • Review existing customer lists to find under-penetrated or inactive accounts, partner with existing Sales Representative or Account Manager to approach them
  • Regularly use company CRM to record activities
  • Participate in tradeshows, join industry associations to network with potential customers
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Management to present ideas for lead generation
  • Coordinate with peers and Management in the design and creation of new offers, business models, and capabilities to maximize new business generation
