VP Marketplace Growth

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Marketplace Growth is responsible for the growth and success of EnergySage’s two-sided marketplace — inclusive of both inbound consumer sales and managing our network of installer and supplier partners. As the business continues to expand into adjacent products, services and markets (e.g., Community Solar, Commercial & Industrial, future products), the VP Marketplace Growth will determine how to most effectively manage and execute the attraction, retention, and scaling of the offerings.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can scale our marketplace through process, strategy, collaboration across functions, and mentoring others. Although a foundation in sales and business development is important, you are most qualified if you have broad business experience and can inform our go-to-market strategies, pricing models, future products, and how best leverage our sales, BD, and account management resources to execute this. Whether you have scaled smaller businesses, started and scaled a business line, or even scaled multiple product lines, it is this drive, energy, and demonstrated ability to grow successful business that makes you strongly qualified for the VP Marketplace Growth position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own sales/business development and account management strategy & KPIs for both the consumer-facing Energy Advisor team and the customer-facing (i.e., installers, manufacturers) Partner Success team
  • Partner with Marketing and Product teams to maintain the pulse of our consumers -- and our installer/manufacturer partners
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies and delivery models for new products, features, and service enhancements in collaboration with marketing, product management, finance, and product-line general managers
  • Conduct research and leverage data to strengthen consumer and customer (installer/manufacturer) success. and thus, overall success of the marketplace
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of both teams
  • Define team structure and optimal team size and configuration -- including determining capacity and utilization rates
  • Manage the growth of the installer/manufacturer network -- primarily through:
    • Business development and account management strategies
    • Installer onboarding and training
    • Marketplace platform enhancements
    • Installer communication and engagement
    • Pricing strategy
    • Analytics and performance management
  • Manage the success of the Energy Advisor team -- primarily through:
    • Playbooks and processes
    • Sales operations
    • Analytics and tracking
    • Tech stack (e.g., phone systems, CRM)

What We Look For:

  • 10+ years in sales, business development, marketing and related functions, with at least 5 years managing and leading sales, business development, marketing, and/or business strategy
  • Proven experience scaling businesses and/or lines of business
  • Progressive approach; have a finger on the pulse of what it takes to be successful in today’s evolving marketplace, including sales operations
