About Us

Isometric is a carbon removal registry. We issue the world’s most scientifically rigorous carbon credits to help Fortune 100 companies tackle climate change and prevent greenwashing.

We're growing quickly, but we’re intentional about hiring people who contribute to our unique culture. Our team is smart, meticulous and courageous—but warm, kind and supportive too.

We’re led by Eamon Jubbawy, an experienced CEO who previously co-founded Onfido, the world’s leading AI-powered identity verification platform. He scaled the company to $100m+ in revenue—verifying over half a billion identities and catching 23 million fraudsters—before selling the company for $650m. Eamon started Isometric in 2022 to bring the same level of rigorous fraud prevention, confidence and trust to the carbon removal industry.

The wider Isometric team includes scientists from Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, MIT, Yale and Stanford—and technologists from companies like Amazon, Shopify, Meta, Google, Wise and Palantir.

We’re backed by world-class investors with real-world experience in climate change and company building: Lowercarbon Capital and Plural.

Join us if you're ready to take on a career-defining role. Working here will be unlike any job you've had before!

About the role

Join our team to spearhead innovative carbon removal initiatives, disrupting an industry in need of change. Lead the development of cutting-edge solutions underpinning enhanced weathering, and collaborate with world-class scientists to combat climate change head-on.

You will…

  • Ensure highest scientific rigor: Ensuring that the science underlying the Isometric platform for enhanced weathering is internally consistent and in line with the latest research.

  • Develop and review protocols: Evaluate enhanced weathering protocols to quantify net negativity, durability, and uncertainty. Validate measurement and modelling techniques applied to enhanced weathering projects.

  • Collaborate on research: Engage with academia, national labs, and industry partners to stay abreast of the latest in enhanced weathering research and technology development. Additionally, build internal knowledge of the science underpinning enhanced weathering.

  • Mentor and support the team: Foster a culture within the early science team that emphasizes scientific rigor, pragmatism, and ecosystem building through mentorship and collaboration.

You have…

  • A PhD degree or nearing completion of a PhD program in geochemistry, environmental & earth sciences, chemical engineering or related.

  • An interdisciplinary technical background in measurement and/or modelling techniques that you have applied or can apply to enhanced weathering processes.

  • An eagerness to learn new things and to teach others about the science of carbon removal and storage. We are science-driven and are building technology that relies on the clear communication of science concepts, both internally and externally.

  • A positive attitude and humility.

  • A collaborative working style and a passion for innovation, with a commitment to upholding the highest scientific standards in tackling challenges related to carbon removal and storage.

This role might not be for you if…

  • You’re looking for a fully remote role at the moment. In the early stages of building our product we’re optimising for being physically together 3 days a week.

  • You enjoy structure and only staying within your area of expertise. We’re a small team early on the journey and things change quickly as we learn more.

  • You prefer a slower pace. While the problem we’re facing has a long time horizon, it’s also critical that we make meaningful progress on it today, not next quarter or year.
