For the development and construction of large-scale offshore wind farms, the scope of work is subdivided into several lots or ‘packages’ related to specific parts of the physical infrastructure of the wind farm, e.g. the wind turbines, their foundations or substructures, the electrical grid infrastructure, etc. This division in packages is used as a basis to procure the respective elements from the supply chain, resulting in one (or more) contracts per package. In between the various packages and/or contracts multiple technical, operational, commercial, and contractual interfaces exist that need to be resolved. While most of the interfaces within the project are related to this subdivision in the scope of work for the physical assets, there are amongst others also significant interfaces with the project’s consents and permits (the Consenting Package) to be accounted for. In the project organization, each package is led by a Package Manager.

The interface manager leads and coordinates the identification, and thereafter the management of all interfaces between the different (sub)packages/contracts. The package manager ensures that all interfaces are dealt with and brought to full resolution.

The interface manager coordinates between the respective Package Managers and their teams: the EPCI packages (the WTG, Foundations, Electrical, and O&M), consenting, planning, risk, finance.

In the Parkwind corporate organization, this function is part of the Technology / EPCI department, as most of the interfaces are of a technical nature.

Given the nature of the role, travel to various locations, may be required, and the individual should be able to communicate with teams operating at different project sites.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establish a scope demarcation matrix focusing on the battery limits between the various packages/contracts jointly with the package managers based on the procurement strategy, and regulatory and consenting boundaries.
• Establish the list of interfaces resulting from the scope demarcation matrix and assign responsibilities for each of the interfaces in a logical and consistent way jointly with the Package Managers.
• Ensure that the potential consequences of interfaces are well identified and understood.
• Coordinate and follow up on the management of each of the identified interfaces with the different packages to their full resolution.
• Set-up and lead more detailed interface meetings and workshops with the packages.
• Ensure that all relevant interfaces are accounted for in the contracts in the best possible way to eliminate, mitigate or reduce the potential consequences.
• Lead a weekly coordination meeting on actions, progress, and newly identified interfaces.
• Review and align with overall project planning.
• Maintain interface register, monitor interface progress and provide regular updates to the project team and management.
  
• Ensure that the required interface documentation is maintained as per interface management plan.
• Tackle Lessons Learned from previous projects regarding interfaces, and make record of new Lessons Learned.
• Participate and contribute to continuously improve interface management process.

Your profile:

• You have a relevant degree in engineering or management or equivalent, preferably with a higher-level degree.
• You have at least 7 years of experience in a relevant field (renewable energy, oil and gas, interface management or engineering management and preferably offshore wind).
• You have experience delivering large packages or projects and motivating multidisciplinary teams in an international setting.
• You have good knowledge in interface management and/or project control principles.
• You are a dynamic person and good communicator, with interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively influence and negotiate critical aspects of projects.
• You demonstrate strong managerial skills and confidence in collaborating with project managers, directors, and senior management.
• You are an advanced user of MS Office and you feel comfortable with complex Excel.
• You have excellent communication and social skills.
• You are a good team player, pro-active and solution-oriented.
• You speak and write English fluently.
