Vehicle Test Data Analysis Engineer

As a vehicle test data analysis engineer at Zoox, you will dive deep in the data coming back from our fleet of vehicles in the field and prototypes driving on the test track. You will build tools and analyze data both to determine if the system meets our requirements and to validate the performance of our simulation tools. This role requires working across all parts of our stack in both simulation and real-world datasets including analyzing the signals within AI driving functions, the output of sensors, and the response of the dynamic response of the vehicle platform. Your work will be highly visible and on the critical path to enabling our driverless future. Everyday, you’ll work with a cross-functional team of vehicle test engineers, simulation tool developers, software engineers, system engineers, and more. Cross-functional collaboration will be key to successfully gathering data, generating analyses, validating simulation results, and driving continuous improvement of our tooling.Vaccine RequirementThe Vehicle Test Data Analysis Engineer is required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Responsibilities

• Perform test data analyses and report test results
• Develop vehicle tests, models, metrics, and analysis tools to support the link between simulation data and real-world driving performance
• Define and develop automated data extraction tools to streamline analyses and reporting
• Troubleshoot and debug issues from the field, and trace failures to correct subsystems that include AI driving functions, sensor performance, and vehicle response.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher degree in Automotive, Aerospace, Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
• 3+ years of test engineering or system integration experience in the automobile, robotics or aerospace industry
• Proficiency with Python and experience with Unix/Linux systems
• Experience with the modeling/simulation of complex systems or validating simulations
• Analytical skills and hands-on experience with processing results from data acquisition systems
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and independently when scoping a technical problem, gathering data, and extracting actionable insights
• Strong communication and technical reporting skills

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with C++
• Prior experience with developing tools for processing large datasets
• Familiarity with AB Dynamics test equipment
