We’re looking for an Executive Assistant to provide all-around support to the firm to keep things running smoothly. This will include but won’t be limited to managing calendars and appointments, arranging travel, general office management, and occasional special projects depending on the firm’s requirements.
This is a full-time position, based in NYC or SF or remotely, starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will have some experience supporting others, with the intention that this candidate will grow and evolve with our firm, with the potential for advancement in 1-3 years. The sky is the limit!
Your Impact
The Executive Assistant (EA) for Montauk Climate is a critical role to enable the smooth functioning of our firm through detailed schedule management, transparent team communications, best-practice guidance, and cultural leadership.
This individual will quickly deliver assigned tasks and proactively design solutions to help our firm grow and operate effectively. The EA is the connector between our internal team of 8-10 people and across our various investments in the climate space.
You will represent and demonstrate our values both internally and while engaging externally to coordinate meetings and advance our collaborative efforts. Your efforts will make it possible to bring about change through climate investing with start-ups that seek to improve our planet.
This role will report to our Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate calendars and managing files
- Understanding priorities and commitments of executives and can adjust with little advance notice
- Managing expense reporting and associated documentation
- Handle email requests and follows up as needed and in a timely manner
- Notetaking and internal communications
- Actively seek to collaborate and foster collaboration across the firm
- Maintain strict confidentiality when accessing sensitive information
- Create and manage accurate and detailed logistical and booking details related to domestic and international travel
- Support and lead in team offsite planning and execution
- Assist on research related to climate investment diligence and projects
Core Skills and Experiences
- Three years of experience as an executive or administrative assistant in a professional environment or in a comparable position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Calendar functions, videoconference systems and typical contact database software such as Salesforce
- Can flexibly and efficiently handle unanticipated changes to schedules, plans and workloads, approaching tricky situations with a positive and solutions-oriented attitude
- Exhibits professionalism and empathy in interactions with others, both in verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects efficiently with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Expert in anticipating needs, resolving challenges before they materialize
- Ability to interact with staff and partners at all levels, while remaining positive, flexible, resourceful, efficient, and managing multiple demands
- Good judgment and strong decision-making ability

Location
We are a remote-ready organization with team members based in New York City and San Francisco Bay Area.
This role is based in New York City.
While we are mostly remote, we love seeing each other in person! We gather at a shared officespace 1-2 times per week in Manhattan.
Compensation & Benefits
Since we are a start-up ourselves, the annual compensation for this position will start at $73k - $76k, but an annual cash bonus and potential firm equity package will be available following year 1.
