<p>We are looking to hire a co-founder with significant marine expertise. You would be the first hire at Voltic and take on a diverse set of significant responsibilities. Your work will entail extensive CAD, FEA, and Naval Architecture. We are especially looking for someone with experience in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, and/or adjacent marine expertise. Your work will also likely touch on electrical engineering as well as solar and battery systems. We are flexible with respect to location. We are open to part-time or temporary arrangements, where there is potential for a switch to full-time in the future.</p>

<p>Voltic is a startup reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the shipping industry by retrofitting diesel ships to be electric. Electric cargo ships have the potential to eliminate 2.2% of global CO2 production, while simultaneously cutting shipping costs by 50-75% depending on route. We are making a boat that is both greener and cheaper. We've closed our first customer, who will pay us to ship containers for them. We've received funding from Y Combinator and the Department of Energy, and are supported by professors from MIT's Ocean Engineering Department.</p>
