We’re seeking a leader based in India to be the Head of India Research for Wood Mackenzie. This role is a senior leader within the organization on point for the successful growth and sustainable build out of our Indian footprint. The role holder will serve as a strategic research and insights leader across Wood Mackenzie and interact with our external customers and partners in India and the wider South Asia region, while also being a visible leader across our operations in India building a rich and active network among the offices. 

As part of the newly formed Regional Leadership Board, they will work closely with our research, consulting, and sales teams in the region to ensure that customer voices and feedback are heard by segment and functional leaders and Global Executive members to help make sound strategic decisions.   

Main Responsibilities

Product & Thought Leadership

  • Act as senior “face of the company” to external customers and partners in India with deep understanding of Wood Mackenzie’s overall research messages and product capabilities.

  • Lead a team of researchers focusing on key energy transition topics and delivering product-enhancing research and analysis, with a primary focus on India and South Asia but also more broadly in related areas as needed.

  • Collaborate horizontally across in-region segment research, consulting, and sales teams to stay coordinated and achieve commercial success.

  • Interact with customers to understand product needs and integrate their voice into our product enhancement roadmap

People, Operations and Culture Lead

  • Be a visible leader and a role model for Wood Mackenzie’s values and culture both internally and externally as we build our brand in country.

  • Alongside functional and segment heads, work with the teams in India to ensure they operate effectively in our matrix structure supporting them locally with leadership and guidance 

  • Support / mentor aspiring local leaders, including in-region office leaders, on building their cross functional impact. 

  • Provide feedback to research, consulting, and sales managers based in other regions on the impact of their reports beyond their functional responsibilities.

  • Work across teams to ensure we have a rich and diverse talent pool developing at all levels across our operations in India

About You

  • Senior leadership experience operating large teams in India and role modelled great leadership

  • Experience working as part of a global information, data, research or consulting company and managing Exec level international stakeholders                                                                                      

  • Demonstrated ability to grow an engaged teams foster a culture of learning and development across multiple disciplines

  • Passionate about data, research, and analytical excellence and a strong growth mindset

  • Keen interest in establishing oneself as a thought leader in front of customers, partners, and other external audience

  • Experience representing large groups within international companies within India

  • Proven ability to inspire others to work towards a shared vision and purpose

We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 3- 4 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.

Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
